We have two versions of this NPG viewer. The cool windmill featured on the front of each represents the De Zaanstroom mill in Wormerveer. That mill had a number of transformations over the centuries, starting in 1767 as a trasmill, later a cement & sand shell mill, then a bluing mill, and later still a spice mill. Eventually, the company that owned it, Erve H. de Jong, began grinding cocoa there. The mill was destroyed in 1886 but the cocoa and chocolate factory that bore its name lasted until 1957.
