Brumberger Stereo Viewer

Yellow! The Brumberger stereo viewer was already one of the best viewers of its kind functionally and we think making it in mid-century yellow took it to the next level aesthetically. This plastic, battery-powered, focusing viewer is designed for 5P Realist format slides and more commonly is found in dark gray or marbled swirl gray. As is, the viewer provides a great viewing experience but some have increased the brightness by upgrading the bulb to LED. The viewer has an opening on the bottom that allows the attachment of a mounting stand and our research has also turned up instructions for converting the viewer to use AC power. The Brumberger would eventually be marketed under the “Star-D” brand, sadly without the joyful “little man” logo embossed on the viewer’s light activation button.

Brumberger: Hawaiian Airlines
This branded Brumberger was actually the first Brumberger in our collection. It came with an immaculate set of color 3D slides of various Hawaiian islands, hotels, people and airplanes. Did you know there was a Viewmaster aircraft? Yes! This set has the Douglas Viewmaster in 3D, as well as the Convair 340. There’s also a 3D shot of the 1952 eruption of the Kilauea volcano, which at that time was the first after a long period.
