F. V. Grünfeld Landeshuter Leinen und Gebildweberei Stereoscope | Landeshuter Linen and Fabric Weaving Mill

Germany, 1910s

We’re happy to welcome this wonderful set into our NPG sub-collection of miniature stereo viewers. This is an adjustable NPG model in a cool blue-green color and, together with its booklet and stereoviews, advertises “The History of Linen in Pictures and Words.” F. V. Grünfeld Landeshuter Leinen und Gebildweberei was founded by Falk Valentin Grünfeld in 1862. The box advertises the factory and workshops as employing more than 1,500 clerks, factory and home workers in Landeshut with mechanical weaving, hand weaving, pattern drawing, electrically operated sewing platter and hand embroidery school. Sales and shipping were out of Berlin where there was also a permanent display of bridal outfits. Pics of the booklet coming soon.
