Coronet Picturescope

England, very late 1920s/early 1930s

We love this rare viewer made by the Coronet camera company. The 3 parts assemble to form a stereo viewer that bears a striking resemblance to the Camerascope viewer from the same time period — right down to the cardholder that accommodates two different sizes of stereoviews and the similar product name. It has the provisional patent #31420. Sets of Picturescope Views (with 6 views in a set) were available depicting different cities. Those views offer another interesting connection to the Camerascope: they’re published by Alfred Krauth who was a co-founder of the company that would later produce the Camerascope.
